Concept Wars Round 1 - Pioggia

Round one entry for #ConceptWars

Just barely finished this. Huzzah! Now some info...

Name: Jacqueline "Jack" Marmoria
Age: 27
Height: 5'9"
Personality: Generally quiet with an observant nature. Tends to have a sarcastic sense of humor.
Nickname: Jack (actually prefers to be called this and absolutely hates it when someone tries to call her "Jackie")
Backstory: Jacqueline's father, Antonio, started off on the bottom rung in the Marmoria family but through hard work, dedication and a bit of luck he was able to raise himself in the ranks and eventually because the favorite of the head of the family, eventually married his daughter thus becoming the new family head (he also took the family name instead of the other way around). When his wife became pregnant, he began making all the necessary plans for his future son including choosing the name Jack after his father-in-law. However there was a minor snag in his plans as his wife gave birth to a daughter instead.
Rather than try again for a son or alter his plans to fit a daughter, Antonio continued as planned, raising "Jack" (renamed Jacqueline by her mother in an attempt to keep her daughter a little feminine) as planned. It should be noted here that Jacqueline was never once told she was a boy or even raised as a boy rather she was taught everything a little boy would need to know and was constantly reminded by her father that "It would've been better if you'd been born a boy but we can't help that now so we're just going to have to make the best of this." Jacqueline didn't mind her upbringing and in fact found it more interesting than the occasional "womanly" lessons her mother tried to sneak in like sewing and cooking.
At the age of twenty-four her father had an unfortunate heart attack and passed away, leaving all the family business in Jacqueline's hands. Despite the fact that she is now the head of the family, Jacqueline isn't afraid to get her hands dirty doing grunt work and will actually volunteer for such jobs saying such things as "My father started off in this family as a lowly grunt and had to work his way up to the top. I was born on the top and thus I must work my way back down to ensure I can be the best leader I can be."

Ah, this was a fun character to make. I've never designed a steampunk character before and hopefully she looks the part. Originally I was going to call her "Evoline" but I was suddenly struck with the name "Jack" which then lead to "Jacqueline" and in turn lead to her whole backstory. Amazing what a little name change can do huh? I will (hopefully) have my ref sheet up for her weapon of choice which'll have a little more backstory for Jacqueline's father.

Also, fun fact: Jacqueline's color pallet for her normal costume is based on an Atlas Moth while her alternative costume is based off of a Lunar Moth. ^^
