I've been wanting to draw Avalon a lot lately, don't know why. Anyway, here's Avalon's bio (beware for it is long)
PeronalityAvalon is very calm and laidback. She speaks with a British accent and tends to be in a near constant state of drunkenness. No one’s sure when she started drinking (I don’t even think she remembers herself) but she loves alcohol, especially rum, and refuses to quit. Since she's almost always drunk, she tends to lean back and swagger a bit. If she's ever sober, she’s fully upright and has a tendency to bang her head into doorframes, thus another reason she'd much rather stay drunk and slanted. It takes a lot to get Avalon drunk, most likely due to her dragon blood, and it’s been said that some of the things she drinks could choke a horse. She does have wings but she is able to keep them retracted in her body and can pull them out when needed. However, this tends to be a very painful process which also ends up ripping the back of her dress so she avoids pulling them out whenever possible. She lives with her mother, who is the dragon, but for quite some time she's been wandering around on her own, seeing the world and all it's sights and searching for people like her. Because of her dragon and elf blood, Avalon’s lifespan is quite long. In Dragon terms, she’s roughly a teenager but by Elf standards she’s still a child and has a long way to go. She travels the world looking for someone who she can become friends with that won't die too quickly. History:(this is a bit more of a history of her parents rather than Avalon herself)
Avalon's mother, Shourlin, is a red dragon (but why Avalon is blue is anyone’s guess). She has the unique ability to shape shift. On a few occasions she would change into a human and venture out into a nearby human village. On one such occasion, she met a man named Rilis Glenswith. He was a weapon smith who lived on the edge of the village and was often described as a bit of a loner. Shourlin was intrigued by him and would often grace him with her presence at his workshop. In the beginning, Shourlin did most of the talking. She would talk to him about her travels, omitting the parts that might reveal what she really was. Shourlin had learned from experience that humans often didn’t take kindly to dragons. Rilis would simply listen as he continued working on swords and daggers. Over time, he began to open up to her and started telling her about some of his own travels. After about a year of this, Rilis revealed the fact that he was an elf and asked Shourlin if she would join him in marriage. Shourlin was unsure at first, Rilis thought her human and if he were to discover she was really a dragon he might leave her. She cared about him too much to let him go. She thought that perhaps one day she could tell him the truth so she agreed and the two were wed.
It was twenty years later that Shourlin gave birth to Avalon, a tiny, bright blue, winged and scaly baby girl. It was at that time that she was finally forced to tell him. She had been worried throughout most of their marriage how to tell him, now she would be forced to. When Rilis saw his daughter, he looked a little taken back but before Shourlin could say anything Rilis took hold of Avalon, smiled and shouted, “She’s so cute! Look Shourlin, I think she has my ears.” Needless to say, Shourlin was a little shocked. Rilis went on to explain that he had figured Shourlin wasn’t a normal human and that eventually she’d tell him what she really was. With that, a great burden was lifted from Shourlin’s shoulders and the three lived out their lives without secrets. Avalon was raised in both dragon and Elvin ways. She learned the value of gold and money from her mother and the value of beauty and swordplay from her father. As the years went on, Avalon and her parents traveled from village to village, since it was a little suspicious that they didn’t age as the rest of the village did. But as the years went on and people began to become a little more tolerant to different races, Avalon and her family became more open about themselves. When Avalon was of a good age to leave home, she began traveling the world herself. She wanted to find others like her and perhaps even find love like her parents did.
